25/01/2012 - Successful Trade for Watches
Our latest specialist evening sale of clocks & watches on 18th January was a resounding success.
The prices achieved indicate an encouraging upward trend in the market, not just for top quality Rolex watches but right across the range with mid-range Omegas in particular showing a significant increase in price levels.
We had 320 registered bidders for this auction which was over 50% higher than our previous specialist sale and it was the steep increase in internet registrations which was almost entirely responsible for this trend.
Over 58% of the lots were sold to online bidders on the internet.
Outside the watch section, great interest was shown in a marine chronometer by John Lilley & Son.
